The Hammered Dulcimer, renowned for its exquisite and resonant sound, has captivated audiences worldwide for centuries. Originating in the Middle East, its name derives from the Latin and Greek words for “Sweet Tune.”

The instrument measures 32 inches in length, 3.75 inches in height, and 12 inches in width.
Body Construction:
The instrument’s base is crafted from multi-layered walnut, featuring a rear opening that serves as a convenient carrying handle. The sides are meticulously crafted from genuine walnut.
Soundboard:
The soundboard, meticulously crafted from light-coloured hardwood, may vary slightly from the image. It comprises a single sound hole adorned with a walnut rosette, intricately designed with a vine and leaf pattern.
Nut and Tuning Mechanisms:
The instrument is equipped with two walnut nuts, strategically positioned on each side. The tuning pegs, threaded into the instrument’s body, are complemented by 19 metal end pegs located opposite the tuning pegs.
Bridge:
The walnut bridges feature color-coded saddles on their tops, facilitating ease of play. For optimal tuning, the distance between the left nut and the first bridge at the top should be 0.6 inches (16 mm), while the distance between the left nut and the first bridge at the bottom should be 0.98 inches (24.9 mm).
Strings:
This hammered dulcimer is equipped with 10/9 strings, comprising 10 single strings crossing the treble bridge on the left and 9 single strings crossing the bass bridge on the right. Each string is spaced 1 inch apart, and the strings can be tuned using the included “T”-shaped tuning tool. Altogether, the instrument features 19 metal strings.
