Description
Lute-Ukulele is one of the sweetest-sounding ukuleles in our collection and is ideally suited for classical and fingerstyle music. Its design is based on the Renaissance Lute, which was prevalent in Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries. This Tenor-sized instrument has a 430 mm (17-inch) scale and features six strings. The second (E) and third (C) strings are doubled, providing a rich, full, and balanced tone. It is played similarly to any standard 4-string ukulele.
The Lute-Ukulele features a European spruce soundboard adorned with the renowned Leonardo Knot rosette, a favored design element among Renaissance lute makers. The back is crafted in the traditional lute-making technique, utilizing alternating staves of Rose-Wood (Dalbergia sissoo) and Lace-Wood (Platanus orientalis). The neck and pegbox are solid Rose-Wood, featuring a cattle-bone nut with a width of 37 mm (1 1/2 inches). A standard end-pin strap button is included.
