Description
- The lute-guitar is an aesthetically pleasing and lightweight instrument of comparable size and scale to a standard classical guitar, yet with a body resembling a lute. In accordance with its lute-inspired character, the bowl-shaped body is achieved through the edge-gluing of staves of uniformly thin hardwoods bent to a specific shape, devoid of substantial internal bracing to maintain its form. The bowl is crafted from walnut wood.
- European spruce is utilized for the soundboard. Notably, the soundboard bracing pattern closely follows the bracing technique employed in renowned Kohno classical guitars.
- The maple wood neck bears a shape similar to a classical guitar, with a 51mm (2-inch) wide nut crafted from bone. The peg box’s top features a carved depiction of a woman’s head. When equipped with standard nylon classical guitar strings, the instrument is tuned in the same manner as a guitar, tuned to E4, B3, G3, D3, A2, and E2. However, if intended for lute music, the third string can be tuned a half-step down to F# to facilitate lute fingering. The guitar is complemented by smooth-operating gold tuners adorned with black ebonized tuning key buttons.
