Description

The LACE-WOOD travel lute features a body crafted from eleven solid LACE-WOOD staves, a LACE-WOOD neck, and a WALNUT-WOOD fingerboard. The peg box is constructed from solid LACE-WOOD, angled at 135 degrees to minimize the instrument’s depth. The tuning pegs and end pin are made of COCUS-WOOD. The soundboard is crafted from European spruce. The instrument is equipped with eight nylon frets and four LACE-WOOD frets. The recommended tuning, an 8-course G4, D4/D4, A3/A3, F3/F3, C4/C3, G3/G2, F3/F2, D3/D2, provides a warm and resonant classical tone.

Historically, lutes have utilized gut strings. However, contemporary lute strings are meticulously crafted from nylon, ensuring exceptional precision. The silverplated copper wound nylon bass strings also impart a rich and classical tone. We recommend the traditional Renaissance tuning for this set.
