This Deluxe model incorporates the finest features from the MID-EAST Mountain Dulcimer line. The vaulted fretboard and spruce soundboard, both lightweight, enhance sound vibration, resulting in exceptional sound quality. The hourglass shape and four classic F-shaped sound holes on the soundboard contribute to its distinctive tone. The body, neck, and fretboard are crafted from solid rosewood, while the tailpiece is gold-plated and resembles a crown. The bridge and nut are made of bone, and the peghead features carved scrolls with 4 gold-plated mechanical geared tuners with a 4:1 ratio. The strings are made of nylon and include 2 melody strings, 1 middle string, and 1 bass drone string. While many tunings are compatible, the traditional DAD method is recommended for ease of play.

Traditionally, mountain dulcimers were constructed with three, equally spaced strings: a melody string, a middle string, and a bass string. Later developments resulted in the creation of a four-string dulcimer by altering the string spacing and doubling the melody string. This modification enhanced the volume of the melody line. Contemporary dulcimers, including the one in question, feature additional notches on the nut, enabling the customization of string patterns. The interior doubled melody string can be completely removed to restore the traditional three-string configuration. Alternatively, the interior melody string and the middle string can be shifted over one notch to create an equal spacing between all four strings.
