Wildwood Dulcimer Specifications

The Wildwood Dulcimer is a versatile instrument featuring three string courses: a wound string at the top, an unwound centre string, and two unwound strings tuned in unison at the bottom. This design allows for a wide range of tunings, with the traditional DADD tuning being recommended for ease of play.

The instrument’s construction includes a spruce soundboard with a cream-colored, straight-grained finish, a ROSEWOOD fingerboard with 6.5 and 13.5 frets, a ROSEWOOD body, and a MAHOGANY neck. The three sound holes are interlocked with rings, enhancing the instrument’s resonance.

The Wildwood Dulcimer’s unique body style enables it to be played like a guitar, rather than the traditional “flat in the lap” position of a mountain dulcimer. This versatility allows for a more comfortable playing experience.
