The alto rebec is a 3-stringed bowed instrument with European ancestry. It is 23″ long with a scale length of 12.5.” The optimal tuning for this Alto Rebec is: G below middle c, d above middle c, a above middle c.
It is played resting on the shoulder, the chest or tucked in the armpit. This ancient instrument comes with 3 gut strings, Rosewood fingerboard, bow It measures 23 inches long by 5 1/2 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches deep (including the bridge).
Bow is 27 1/2″ long and the rosin for bow (VR200 D’Addario Rosin) is sold separately.
